Five Homemade Treats For Your Pooch

We all love a delicious treat, especially homemade goodies. Well our canine friends enjoy them too! Wouldn’t you prefer your dog to be eating inexpensive healthy, easy-to-make homemade dog treats over the costly store-bought ones with harmful ingredients? To get you started, here are five quick and easy, healthy homemade dog treat recipes for delicious homemade dog treats that your dog will find simply irresistible! These recipes can be made in under 20 minutes and require only a few simple ingredients, and some don’t even require any cooking.

Have fun!

Lush Frozen Carrot Coolers

• 32oz. of plain yogurt
• 2 cups of cooked carrots, pureed and cooled.

Directions:
1. Combine the ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well.
2. Spoon the mixture into ice cube trays.
3. Freeze overnight.

Yummy Peanut Butter Balls

• 1 Cup of milk
• 2 Eggs
• 4 Tablespoons of peanut butter
• 2 Tablespoons of water
• 1/2 Teaspoon of salt
• 1/2 Cup of flour

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Combine all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix well with your     hands.
3. Roll into bite-sized balls and place on a greased cookie sheet.
4. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
5. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Freeze any unused treats for optimum freshness.

Delicious Doggy Chips

• 1 large sweet potato

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Peel sweet potato and slice into 1/3 inch thick pieces.
3. Lay slices out on baking greased baking tray.
4. Bake for 2 hours.

Tip: If you cut them 1/3 inch thick the middle will be slightly chewy, but you can also try slicing them thinner to turn them into chip-like crispy treats.

Tasty Beef Balls

• 1 lb. of ground beef
• 4 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese
• 2 carrots, grated
• 1 cup of bread crumbs
• 2 eggs, beaten

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Combine all ingredients together and mix well, then roll into meatballs.
3. Place on a well greased cookie sheet.
4. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until they are brown and firm.
5. Store them in the fridge to keep them fresh. Any unused treats can be frozen for optimum freshness.

Easy Cheesy Homemade Dog Treats

• 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
• 1 3/4 cups grated cheddar cheese
• 1 stick of margarine

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Blend cheese, margarine and flour.
3. Shape into 2 logs about 2 inches wide.
4. Chill in the refrigerator.
5. Cut into 1/4 inch thick slices and place on greased cookie sheet. 6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until brown and firm.
7. Allow them to completely cool before serving.
